SAY "NO" to use of PUBLIC HOSPITAL FOR PRIVATE CARE!! A TOTAL BS!

Okay okay - first I am going to cut and paste from :-
http://www.parti-sosialis.org/posts/1620/no-to-use-of-public-hospitals-for-private-care/

A demonstration will be held outside four public hospitals on March 1 against the government’s partial privatisation of the facilities.

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) will coordinate the action outside the hospitals in Johor Bahru, Alor Setar, Serdang and Sungai Buloh.

Among the groups taking part are Pakatan Rakyat component parties, the Malaysian Trades Union Congress and the Kedah branch of Malay NGO Teras Pengupayaan Melayu (Teras).
The two- hour demonstration will kick off at noon and will be followed by the submission of a memorandum to the hospital authorities

PSM secretary-general S Arutchelvan (above), who will lead the group in Serdang said the privatisation involves the Full-paying Patient Programme. This will be operational after office hours.

“Government resources will be used to cater to the rich, and doctors now have an opportunity to make more money,” Arutchelvan explained, adding that the public healthcare system could be compromised.

Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Jayakumar, the national coordinator of the protest, criticised the programme as “the government’s neo-liberal approach towards healthcare”.

“Follow the pay scale of the doctors at the National Heart Institute (IJN by its Malay abbreviation) instead of privatising hospitals,” he said as an alternative to privatisation.

He noted that the rate of ‘migration’ and resignation of doctors is far lower at IJN compared to other government hospitals.

Jayakumar, the former secretary of the Coalition against Health Privatisation, said similar opposition to privatisation had been registered in 2006 and 2007.

To me, the basis of public hospital is to provide healthcare consistently and professionally to all MALAYSIANS in equal manner. So, WTF is with rich people trying to get special treatments at public hospitals? They can go to "blood-sucking-pirahnas" private hospitals that will attempt to open you up for any "revenue-generating" procedures that they can think of! To me this is like corruption - I can pay you MORE, treat me first, let the poor die ..... arrrrggghhh.....

Poor, poor sillylupie!

P:S: I had to wait 2 1/2 hrs just to draw my blood at the Nephrology Clinic today - while I truly understand their workload, I will "burst" if I see a rich datin/tai-tai with blings blings cutting the queue just because she is er..er.. "rich" ... Money can really buy the Government!
