It is hard for me to write this.
I've been putting this off for several weeks (months, in case of Meow Kung) - I am just not good when it comes to writing about loss of furry ones, strays or not. Most of them have names in my heart. It may be just a simple Meow Kung, which means "Mancat", in Cantonese.
Meow Kung passed on several months ago, we found him almost lifeless near our letter box.
He had not been well days before.
Being an alley cat, life can be difficult. Meow Kung was a stray (or rather pre-owned, as he was "fixed" with a collar - his owner moved away) from our previous rented place. He knew that we were moving and was adamant to stay within our sight while we loaded our stuffs to our van. Despite the noise, he remained - the other cat slave then said, "Hey, wanna come along?" - Meow Kung hopped into our van. He "meowed" the whole journey (which was only a 5-minutes drive) and as soon as we let him out - he had a new home. He was always there at our porch waiting for us to come home from work - he never fought with others for food - he was real MANCAT, a gentle one with manners, except when he bit me!

I still remember how he used to "stalk" me, funny.
I will remember you always.

And,
Tata, also known as Pataya - named after my dinner of "Nasi Goreng Pataya" - he bloomed or ballooned into a very handsome MANCAT, until he had this problem with constipation. We took him to the vet for a rectal edema and his health went bottom after that.
He passed away peacefully about 2 weeks ago.
It is still so fresh in my mind, using Tata as my "covershot" for CNY greeting this year - Tiger ... grrrr ... Oh god, I do miss him.

A Bodhisattva Prayer
From now on, until I achieve enlightenment, I rely on you.
Please give me wisdom to escape samsara.
If I am supposed to get sick, let me get sick, and I’ll be happy.
May this sickness purify my negative karma
and the sickness of all sentient beings
If I am supposed to be healed, let all my sickness
and confusion be healed, and I’ll be happy.
May all sentient beings be healed and filled with happiness.
If I am supposed to die, let me die, and I’ll be happy.
May all the delusion and causes of suffering of beings die.
If I am supposed to live a long life, let me live a long life, and I’ll be happy.
May my life be meaningful in service to sentient beings.
If my life is cut short, let it be cut short, and I’ll be happy.
May I and all others be free from attachment and aversion.

Oh Bin, I am so so sorry about Meow Kung and Tata!!
Meow Kung was such a character!! He knew you were going to be his family and he wanted to be your Fu-Lion to protect you even when he bit you - oh dear! And Tata looks so lovely - a beautiful kitty!
I'm just so glad that they spent their happiest times with you. I'm so glad they tasted how it is to be loved and cared for.
Thank so much for sharing that lovely prayer of acceptance and finding inner peace and contentment. They are comforting words especially when grieving.
Take care
x
Bin, I'm so, so sorry. Of course I'm in tears reading this. I'm so glad both cats had you, though--at least they knew love and kindness and had a wonderful home with you.
Thank for posting that prayer; it's perfect.
That is so sad Bin. Lots of hugs coming your way. We are sure glad they both had you as a friend. It is always so sad to lose an animal. That is a lovely poem too. Take care Bin and give Lucky a hug.
Bin - what a lovely post you have done in memory of Meow Kung and Tata. We can see how much you cared for them and by your posts how much you missed them after their passing.
Your prayer is just perfect.
We hope you are feeling better today and are getting your "personal time clock" back again.

oh, dear bin--we are so sorry to hear about your two furry loves passing from this life. but we are very happy that you gave them love and care; we know your karmic debt is lightened by your acts of compassion that allowed them to enjoy peace and tranquility of life while you cared for them.

I'm so sorry about Meow Kung and Tata. This is just so sad. You obviously loved them very much.
Hope you were able to get some rest and felt good for Monday.
My sympathies for your loss of Meow Kung and Tata. It is so hard to lose a friend and fellow soul on the Journey.
I enjoyed the prayer very much, I'm going to print it out and save it.
Purrs for you and the Gang,
MomKat Trish
Our deepest purrs for the loss of both Tata and Meow Kung. It is so hard to lose our fur babies, and it is so obvious how deeply felt the love you had for both of them were. We will keep you in our purrayers and also when we light our candle tonight we will include Tata and Meow Kung in them.
{purrs}
Abby
We are so sorry for your loss. We are sending you extra purrs and gentle headbutts.
Bin, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful babies; there are no words for such deep sorrow...Meow Kung and Tata were both so lucky to have you and knew you loved them...Their love will live in your heart forever=love never dies...Take care of yourself and allow your other babies to give you comfort during this sad time...Wishing you comfort and peace, sending you love and big hugs...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki
Thankyou for visiting me. I am so sad to hear the sad news. It is so difficult to get over the death of furry loved ones. i don;'t think you ever really get over it, especially if they have been part of your life for a significant time, in this I don't just mean length.
Meow Kung and Tata were lucky to have shared your life and know what love is.
I have a family friend who also suffers from lupus. I know what you are going through and we pray and purr for you.
I am so very sorry for your losses. They both sounded like they were such good kitties.
dear meow kung & pataya
rest in peace
both of u will be remember always
:( :( :(
They were happy and loved when they were with you.
Hi there - so nice to meet you! But distressed to hear about meow kung and pataya. I hope you are okay. Losing family members is always hard.
Bin, I'm so sorry to read about your kitties. These creatures become so much a part of our lives it does leave a hole inside when they pass on. There are no words for comfort. People who know what it means to be a kittie-slave (or any animal-slave) can only share your sadness and try to comfort you from afar.
Lovely words. I am so sorry to learn about not one, but two of your kitties passing. It is never easy to lose a companion. You're handling the situation the best way we can - by celebrating their lives on your blog!
My thoughts are with you as you grieve -
Cory ("Mom" of Nico, Simon & JayJay)
What a lovely tribute to 2 kitties who were fortunate to share their lives with you. I am going through a similar sadness worrying about the 2 ferals kitties that frequent my garden now...hard not to worry or to care. I hope I make their lives a little easier but I am not sure...

Hi Bina,
Very sorry to hear of Pattaya.
Bobo just went to rainbow bridge yesterday. He had Sporo and we were forced to put him to sleep.
It was a hard decision, but was the best decision for him.. considering how painful the desease is and how the desease can effect other cats in the house.
He gonna accompany Pattaya and Meow Kung at Rainbow Bridge then
I'm so, so sorry to hear this, Lupie. My heart goes out to you. I remember MeowKung and Pattaya, and how they came to be with you.... :`(
R.I.P. Meow Kung and Pattaya. :`(
