1189 ...

I totally hate going to the Emergency Dept over small matters like diarrhea and nausea.
I hate explaining to the guy manning the outside counter "why a healthy looking (chubby too) woman here at the ED?"
I hate being look at like there's a tag on my forehead "h.y.p.o.c.h.o.n.d.r.i.a.c".

BUT

Considering my next blood test will only be in first week of Oct,
My appointment to see the doctor will be mid-Oct,
Also, next week is a loooong weekend (again! Yipppee) ... with the RAYA celebrations.

AND

Their NEPHRO Dept did ask me to approach ER if symptoms persist.

WELL

It has been over 3-weeks.

I am alive and pooping in my pants is no laughing matter. Dammit!

GOOD NEWS though ...

My full blood count and liver tests came back OKAY.
Well, not-that-OKAY, but I've always been "borderline" this and that.
So, in my case - I am OKAY.
I've even forgotten that I've always been borderline anemic - but hey my hemoglobin counts rocks this time.

My Potassium was at "borderline" low .. so I've been given this really cool drink.
Hmmmm .. okay, maybe not so "cool".

We were at the hospital for more than 3 hours, got home at about 3.30am.
Well, it was a busy night at ER - there were so many accident cases, one elderly guy who was bashed up by some hooligans and not forgetting - one "h.y.p.o.c.h.o.n.d.r.i.a.c".

THIS MORNING, I saw a "missed call" from the hospital at 4.40am.
I have NO ID what they want.
I can't return call because I have NO ID who called me?

NOW, I'm going to have this NAGGING feeling of what the call was all about.
They didn't left a voicemail, so should be safe to assume it wasn't urgent?

Hope you are feeling better, Bin; great news your tests came back good...If they didn't leave you a message, I wouldn't worry about the hospital call; if you're curious (like a cat :)!) call the number back and tell them you are returning their call without a name or message=they might be able to find out about the call from your chart, although if it were important, I'm sure they would have left a message...Hang in there and get some rest...Kisses to handsome Lucky, big hugs to you...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki

That's just too bad, what they think. "Hypochondriac" or whatever. You need to take care of yourself first and foremost, regardless of what anyone thinks. So I'm glad you went, glad your blood work is mostly okay (for you).

As for the message...Maybe if you call them and ask? If it were urgent they would have called back, I should think.

Lots of (((hugs))) and Light!

Arg! I have irritable bowel disease and I feel for you...how can I be 47 and think I *really* could use a diaper? Not that bad actually...but I know how it is to have three weeks of stomach problems. I'd go to the ER too. It's so easy to get dehydrated and it's all downhill from there.

Good news that your bloodwork is good for you. At least you're holding your own and the increased hemoglobin should give you a little more energy to play with Lucky!

Thanks for the encouraging words...I had a cr@p day yesterday and I needed to have a small pity party. All is well today.

Oh Bin - I'm going to be optimistic and say that the missed call was probably a wrong number. I am so certain that if it were urgent they'd have rang you again and/or left a message!!

So don't worry about that call now - you just get better!!

Of course you should go to the hospital when you know you are unwell - that's what they're there for. You of all people with your lupus and your shingles and your suppressed immune system need to be medical priority!! So good for you for going.

I'm just so sorry you had to wait for such a long time - I'm so so so glad that the results are ok - they're not good but they ain't bad either!!! So let's hang on to that. Yay for you!!! :-)

That poor man who got beat up.. oh dear. :-( That's the thing with hospitals - they are there to make you feel better but you sort of leave feeling worse!!!

GOOD LUCK with your new potassium drink. I hope it tastes better than it sounds. Can you mix it with something? If not just down it in one very quickly!LOL!

And please please please go to the hospital if you are not well again!! Don't worry about what anyone else thinks - it's YOUR health that counts!

Take care Bin!
hugs and purrs
x

I so agree with old kitty. It is your life so dont worry about others. I also think if the phone call was important they would have left a message or rang back. Get some rest and feel better soon.. Love Carol and GJ x

Bin
I hope you are feeling better. I am sad to say fearful that the worst sympathetic people are the ones who work inside a hospital. A few years ago I had to go to the ER and the woman who was the "check-in" clerk was so unfeeling it was unsettling. I still think about how uncaring she was, but I guess they get that way for a reason I don't understand. Hope that things continue to improve for you.
