Siamese Saturday

Name : Sim (short for Sim Mao, Cantonese for Siamese Cat)

Age : I consider myself YOUNG, although the Lady-Who-Poke-Something-Behind-Me-Butt-Hole said I am quite old based on my teeth!!!! I have dental issue, I am certainly NOT OLD!

Status : Alleycat (or should I say, "Extremely Handsome Alleycat")

Characteristics :- A++, Slender, Athletic, Long whiskers, Long tail, Extremely handsome - Only better when compared to Slyvester!

My Story :- I guess I am LOST! It has been six months since I've been eating, occupying HER front porch. She says I remind her of her Siamese Cat when she was a teenager (Now, this is what I call OLD .....). I'd normally meet her at the front gate when she returns from her errands. She says I am sticky like glue, oh well, she ain't getting rid of me!! I know she loves me too!

 Health Issues : Currently on painkiller, antibiotics. I do feel much better and hopefully will continue feeling better after completion of meds!

Tuxedo Tuesday

Name : Slyvester (The 'ding-dong' lady calls me "Ves")

Age : Very young, prime time ....

Status : Alleycat (we do love our freedom!)

Characteristics :- A++, Slender, Athletic, Long whiskers, Long tail, Extremely handsome, Likes to pee in front of the ding-dong lady's door if unwell.

My Story :- Believe it or not but I used to have an owner, behind the ding-dong lady's house.

I 'disowned' my owner and decided to stalk this ding-dong lady.

I now own ding-dong lady.

She feeds me when I MEOW! I've got her under control, at my paw tip!

Health Issues : Balls missing (hehehehe), used to have Mange problem, sometimes, pee problem.

Pro Bono (Mini, Ah Sim, Bono)

Pro Bono, a (okay, two..) word(s) I picked up from watching the "Good Wife", "LA Laws" ...

It means, a Professional rendering his / her services FOC .. free of charge to the recipient.

Two weeks or so ago, I received Pro Bono services...

For .... neutering THREE playboys (cats of course) of the alley!!

The help couldn't have come at a better time!

My "alleycat fund" was hitting bottom.

Second, Ah Sim - we think he belonged to someone, probably lost his way home while out seeking for 'love'..

No response. Guess I'm stucked with him.

He practically knocks on the door and demands food!

Ah Wong passed away naturally on the last day of Rabbit year.

We pray that he is now at peace, pain-free and soon, to a better rebirth.

Thank you all for helping Ah Wong with his medical care.

Though he is only an alleycat, still, he passed on as "Ah Wong".

Ah Wong had a name,

Ah Wong had a home,

and,

Ah Wong was loved by many.

P:S : I dreamed of Ah Wong not too long after he passed on. 

He was in his cage, all healed, no lumps, no bumps.

Today is Day No. 5.

Where are you, Sin-Sin?

Every morning when I opened the door, I wished so badly that you will be there,

Stretching, and playing hard to get....

You love scritches in the morning,

And a good belly rub in the evening.

My heart aches not knowing where / how are you.

I feel like I've failed you.

Sin-Sin, Please Stop Running ...

Three men (including my DH), almost an hour in a 15 feet deep monsoon drain (luckily dry) running back and forth, trying to catch Sin-Sin ..... unsuccessfully ..... she ran towards a different section of the drain, across shallow waters .. She could be anywhere now ...

Mission called-off at 3.30 am - we now hope she will somehow return to the same spot again.

Will search again tomorrow.

Many thanks to the team of "Jabatan Pertahanan Awam" (direct translated, Public Defence Dept) who came to assist us when we spotted her at 2.00 am.

Take 2 : "Ah Wong"

Ah Wong is back ... and as you can see loooves to eat.
Menu for today is canned smelly yummy, mixed with boiled chicken and ... his meds.

He had a lump removed from his chest area yesterday.
(The doc found the 'lump' as she was getting rid of the abscess...)

His mange is clearing up, but the lump on his temple is getting bigger.

Please continue to pray for him ... hopefully the 'lump' will disappear by itself!!
Need miracle! :)

Wishing for $$$$ ...

At times like this, I wish it will rain money....
There must be a reason 'Ah Wong' walked into our house that very morning..

'Ah Wong' is back at the vet again.
Another abscess appeared on his neck. Doc to drain.
The lump on his face has grown bigger and the "C" word was uttered.

And, another alley kitty has a lump on her abdomen.

And And, my kitties broke my IKEA table ... and my mug ... and yes, that's Lucky & Summer

Ah Wong (previously known as "Orange") ......

DH renamed Orange to "Ah Wong" ...

It means "The Yellow", "Mr. Yellow" in Chinese.

Ah Wong is now at the vet, pending surgery to remove / drain suspected abscess.

It grew out of nowhere, into the size of a golf ball on his face/neck overnight!

Ah Wong, You must be strong and it will all be OK!

Meet "Orange" ...

This morning, when DH opened the front door, a golden kitty (God of Wealth in disguise, perhaps?) dashed in, dehydrated, hungry, meowing, looking for food.

He wasn't afraid of us at all - but, but, but, I've not seen this cat before in this neighbourhood.
Where did he come from?

Took him to the vet, he is about 7 yrs old or so. Treated him for mange.
He has been neutered, so he is probably someone's lost pet.

Didn't have a name for him at the vet.
She suggested 'Orange'.

Meatless Monday : 3-Oct-2011

Not so very long ago, maybe two or three days ago - while I was preparing 'cones' out of old newspaper to scoop the furry ones 'gold' (i.e. 'waste') - I saw a big headline on a sub-section of The Star newspaper, it says "Meatless Monday".

So, here I am attempting my very first Meatless Monday.

Breakfast was at hospital's cafeteria, I had no meat only two pieces of sweets green 'kuih', BUT , I swear I did hear the fried Chicken Wing besides the Nasi Lemak yelling out for me ..... "Eat Me!"......

Home at about 11 am. Hungry - wanting to eat meat. Two raw chicken wings await me in the fridge.
It is easy to satisfy, one packet of Maggie Mee + Chicken Wing + Egg - microwave 5 minutes... yummy...
Tempted ...

Instead, I found and ate this ..

3.30 pm, I ate this

Mooncake, Mixed Nuts - Totally "Meatless"!

Knowing that I needed proper "Meatless" meal for dinner ...

I made "Chap Chye" (or Mixed Vege).

Similar to my Meatless Monday today, this is my first attempt at Chap Chye.

Didn't turn out like what I wanted but nevermind la ...

Mr. Do is one of the four kittens a mother cat brought to our house.

Their mom has been out of sight for months now.

Mr. Re (with one cloudy eye) has gone missing too.

Cutie, Do and Mi are always trying to trip me on our very small front porch.

Besides them, we have got 3 retired, much seasoned "CATsanova", fighting, screaming their lungs off at feeding time.

Of course, Parsley and Tiger, who have both decided to live outdoor.

Darkie has moved indoor as he is kind of weak for wild.

Pls send purrs for Darkie (aka Kiki)!

Double B

BB - or Double B, Lone Ranger of the Neighbourhood.

Yo, yo ... all you kitties out there,

Yo, tis is yo Double B speaking.

Me Mama been basting me,

With sauce ever so yellow,

For Me own good she say,

Double B can't be mellow,

For being so yellow.

So Double B smack Mama,

Bare-paw'ed',

Let the message be clear,

No messing with Double B!

Busy for BB ..

Remember, BB - the lone ranger of the neighbourhood?

He's been playing magic with us.

Now you see me, now you don't.

A week right after his neutering, he went missing.

Soon, he returned but was unable to eat or drink.

Hovering his head over the common water bowl.

He tried to eat, but would seem to choke.

Four days passed and he still wasn't eating.

We then confined and started to force feed him liquid diet via syringe.

After five days of force-feeding and blessing of Bast, he got better.

He started eating, running and ... MISSING again.

A week later, he returned, looking like this.

Yes, he looks like a Gremlin.
He is now caged and we are doing what we can.

Togetherness Tuesday

Meet, Cutie (cream-coloured, siamese-like kitten) with her other siblings, Do Re Mi, neutered last Sunday.

These are the four stray kittens, a mommy cat brought to our front porch.

Their "Mommy" is no where to be seen now.

Sigh!

All neutered at SPCA/DBKL Klinik Kembiri.

Remember it is all about Loving Kindness, be grateful to be able to help.
