Monday in Memory of Tata & Meow Kung

It is hard for me to write this.
I've been putting this off for several weeks (months, in case of Meow Kung) - I am just not good when it comes to writing about loss of furry ones, strays or not. Most of them have names in my heart. It may be just a simple Meow Kung, which means "Mancat", in Cantonese.

Meow Kung passed on several months ago, we found him almost lifeless near our letter box.
He had not been well days before.
Being an alley cat, life can be difficult. Meow Kung was a stray (or rather pre-owned, as he was "fixed" with a collar - his owner moved away) from our previous rented place. He knew that we were moving and was adamant to stay within our sight while we loaded our stuffs to our van. Despite the noise, he remained - the other cat slave then said, "Hey, wanna come along?" - Meow Kung hopped into our van. He "meowed" the whole journey (which was only a 5-minutes drive) and as soon as we let him out - he had a new home. He was always there at our porch waiting for us to come home from work - he never fought with others for food - he was real MANCAT, a gentle one with manners, except when he bit me!

I still remember how he used to "stalk" me, funny.
I will remember you always.

And,

Tata, also known as Pataya - named after my dinner of "Nasi Goreng Pataya" - he bloomed or ballooned into a very handsome MANCAT, until he had this problem with constipation. We took him to the vet for a rectal edema and his health went bottom after that.
He passed away peacefully about 2 weeks ago.

It is still so fresh in my mind, using Tata as my "covershot" for CNY greeting this year - Tiger ... grrrr ... Oh god, I do miss him.

A Bodhisattva Prayer

From now on, until I achieve enlightenment, I rely on you.
Please give me wisdom to escape samsara.

If I am supposed to get sick, let me get sick, and I’ll be happy.
May this sickness purify my negative karma
and the sickness of all sentient beings

If I am supposed to be healed, let all my sickness
and confusion be healed, and I’ll be happy.
May all sentient beings be healed and filled with happiness.

If I am supposed to die, let me die, and I’ll be happy.
May all the delusion and causes of suffering of beings die.

If I am supposed to live a long life, let me live a long life, and I’ll be happy.
May my life be meaningful in service to sentient beings.

If my life is cut short, let it be cut short, and I’ll be happy.
May I and all others be free from attachment and aversion.

The face of a very CONSTIPATED cat ...

Yes, Tata (formerly known as "Pataya") is badly constipated! He has been straining (really, really hard!) for the past one week while trying to do his "poo business". Still no "poop" output ...

He is now at Baby Pets waiting for his "rectal edema", to be performed under GA (General Anaesthesia) - woooo hoooo ....

Salem & Pataya ... Fixed! (21,22 ...)

Happy to announce that Salem & Pataya have been sucessfully, safely fixed at Klinik Kembiri, Setapak.

We were there at about 9.30 am. After registration and checking them in, we went for our breakfast at Pak Li's in Danau Kota. I had a very nice nasi goreng with lots of yummy chicken bits and prawns (though the prawns were a bit off ...).

By 1.30pm, we were back at Klinik Kembiri. This time, the wait was a little longer. Pataya and Salem was only allowed to go home at around 2.30 pm. While waiting, we checked out the breed chart and thinks that Pataya looks like a Turkish Van ! (same colour, with bushy tail...) ..

It tickles me when Mr. Krishnan said Salem is like a small spitz, and later the vet commented that Salem is not a cat but a dog. He is the heaviest cat for the day! 4.98 kg!! Muahahahahaha .....

Salem's no. was 21 ...

Pataya no. 22
A little bloody this time around ...

Sleeping it off .... Oh it is all just a bad dream!

Cost - RM 90 for two male kitty cats!

Cats on Tuesday (COT)

This is especially for Sis Ted who requested more on Pataya!
Sis Ted's blog :- http://myqza.blogspot.com/

Hello all, my name is "Pataya", I think, or maybe it is "Papaya". I have been adopted (I hope!) into this household by my human meowmmy. (Pssss.... sometimes, I heard human meowmmy saying that she is only temporary fostering me, gosh, I hope that's not true, I really like her as a meowmmy, she is very good at opening those yummy delicious snappy tom's can! And and, she can scoop poo, pee very quickly!)

I was born (or abandon, I can't remember ..) in Bandar Tasik Selatan, near the roadside stalls. One fine evening, when I was on my usual round of soliciting "food", I saw my now, human meowmmy calling out ... "mew mew, come here...", I being a brave boy walked towards her and meow, she gave me some chicken from her plate and asked if I wanted to follow her, I didn't say yes, but what to do, being adorable, human meowmmy couldn't resist me and took me into human papi's car.
This is me, getting ready for my first bath ...

After my first bath ...

About two weeks later ... me and my spot ...

Games kittens play!

"Pataya" ... three weeks later

Time flies ... it has been more than 3 weeks since we found Pataya while having dinner in Bandar Tasik Selatan. He is still very "gangsta". He typically likes to pounce on every cat at home, he doesn't mind being hissed at, he'll try again, making friends - the "gangsta" way.

He has minor mange problem (see nose) and it seemed to have improved a little. Pataya is a very naughty young boy, always seeking attention! I love to watch him sleep, he is so deep into his slumber and it feels so peaceful.

He loves being hugged too. It is amazing the way he relaxed his body when I hold him, very trustingly he allows me to position him any way I like!

Sleep well my baby, may your dreams be blessed with nothing but sweetness and happiness.

Meet "Pataya" ...

Hey all, meet "Pataya", named after my dinner yesterday - Nasi Pataya @ Bandar Tasik Selatan.
I am not sure if "Pataya" is a he or she because I'm "hopeless" when comes to ascertaining kitties' genders!!! I am sure some may have heard my story of sending a female cat for castration in Klinik Kembiri ... muahahahaha

"Pataya" appeared when me and hubby was about to finish our dinner. I saw "Pataya" walking like a "gangsta" towards the table in front of us, I told hubby, "Ain't that kitty lovely" ... "Pataya" swayed his/her? tail left and right, probably thinking in her mighty brains, "Now those two looks like very capable slaves to be..."

To cut the story short, we took her home.

I gave "Pataya" a quick bath today, suprisingly, "Pataya" didn't scream her lungs off like the rest of the gang...

"Pataya" being very unhappy and wet!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And talah ....... a princess (or prince) in making ....
Oh ya, "Pataya" poo'ed' on me when I was carrying her down for lunch! I tell you, it was some serious "poo"!
