Another "buy" .... Ox Carving

While waiting for my turn in Selayang Hospital last Tuesday, I decided to pop to Selayang Capitol to "look, see" a.k.a, "window shopping", though it is not a really interesting place ... but, compared to the hospital, I can't complain.

To start off, I almost slipped right in front of McD, as there was this puddle of water, leaking from god knows where, and my slipper, being almost "worn out" ... nearly gave way, there you have, "a hippo trying to balance herself in a puddle of water" ...

Then, as I "look, see" (not suppose to BUY!!) at this "China products promotion", there was this pair of ox that captured my attention, I know, LT and JT says to get a green, jade OX to activate luck in 2009 but, this pair of ox, pinkish, greyish in colour was calling out for me "Bring me home, we'll "lucky" u..." .... and, surprisingly, it only cost me RM 12.oo for this pair of superb stone carved ox!! I already feel lucky!

Driving ... (again)

Being under achieved (except in the weight area and "horizontally"...), my hubby reminded me that I still do not have a driving license.......

I hate being reminded....

And yes, I do like to procrastinate. "Procrastination" in my own words, means inclination to defer actions, or non-actions.

After reading Wikipedia's write-up on "Procrastination", I now know that I have underlying psychological or physiological (I am not very logical anyway..) disorder AND sinful .... sigh....

What's next?

Wikipedia states :-
"Procrastination is a type of behavior which is characterized by deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. Psychologists often cite procrastination as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision. [1]

For an individual, procrastination may result in stress, a sense of guilt, the loss of personal productivity, the creation of crisis and the disapproval of others for not fulfilling one's responsibilities or commitments. These combined feelings can promote further procrastination. While it is normal for people to procrastinate to some degree, it becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning. Chronic procrastination may be a sign of an underlying psychological or physiological disorder.

The word itself comes from the
Latin word procrastinatus: pro- (forward) and crastinus (of tomorrow). The term's first known appearance was in Edward Hall's Chronicle (The union of the two noble and illustre famelies of Lancestre and Yorke), first published sometime before 1548.[2] The sermon reflected procrastination's connection at the time to task avoidance or delay, volition or will, and sin. KWSP (EPF) Kiosk Pintar (Smart Kiosk)

I was roaming around IJN (Institut Jantung Negara) or in English, “National Heart Institute” yesterday and I came across this KWSP (EPF) machine at the lobby area “Kiosk Pintar” (Smart Kiosk) … now, how smart can it get?

How smart can it get lah?

My first expectation, it is probably not working or even BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), something must be wrong! It is a government machine, in a public area, sure got problem one!!

I walked into the room, air-cond was off, and I have this machine staring at me.

First : Insert your smart card (Identification card with chip) ….
Then, put your right thumb on the scanner …….

10 seconds later…..

Talah … my name then appeared on the screen, not bad!!

And I was given the choice to get a temporary pin for online access of my KWSP (EFP) account on http://www.kwsp.gov.my/
OR
to generate a paper statement from the machine!
Wow! Paper statement … (I was telling myself, “sure no paper one…government machine mah, sure no refill”). YIKES, I was wrong (again!), an A4 sized statement was made available in less than 30 seconds!

For a moment (10 minutes or so), I was one very happy KWSP (EPF) member.

Tow-Trucks...AAM and ME ...

Tow-truck ...
Daddy's car went 'dead' on the highway last Saturday, had to get it towed from Damansara Tol to Sentul. It cost ME (yes, ME!) RM 130.00!!

Called AAM to enquire regarding tow charges, they said it is RM 1.20 per km, and chargeable from tow-truck location to vehicle location area, then to workshop and finally back to tow-truck location. AAM arranged for their panel to call us, and "Ah Beng" said, RM 150.00 to tow, it makes me wonder if RM 1.20 just a mere "make-up" rate to make their whole service professional? I asked what are the mileage like from tow-truck location to Damansara Tol? He couldn't explain in details. Bugger! AAM should check on their panel, all I can think of is "dishonesty" and it is giving AAM a bad name. If you have a rate, it should be followed, detailed out and not manipulated!

We ended up getting the tow service from a number given by the "Tol Plaza" personnel, opening price was RM 150.00 but somehow we negotiated down to RM 130.00.

I remember tow-truck charges was in between RM 60 to RM 80, but no thanks to the fuel increase, all prices (including parking?????, even parking???) are inflated!
